    Between 1800 and 1850.
    Bronze gilt.
    19 th or beginning 20 th century.
    Complete with its counterweight not very well fixed.
    European model (Italy).
    Fortuna, in Roman mythology, personification of Luck and Chance, assimilated to the Greek Tyche.
    Fortuna is usually depicted holding a rudder in one hand because she rules the destiny of the world, and a cornucopia in the other because she can be a blessing.
    Most often, however, she is blind or blindfolded, as this distribution occurs randomly.
    She sometimes stands near a wheel symbolizing the random dimension of human destinies.
