    Description

You are looking at a very rare
    JOSS Model #12
    from
    1988
    in flawless condition.
I am the original owner. One of the things that
    influenced
me to purchase this cue was, it was the same cue that Mike Siegel was playing with at that time.  I purchased it directly from Joss Cues in 1988. Even the Certificate of Authenticity (pictured) is in perfect condition. Not even a fold. I've redacted my name for privacy. But, the original certificate will be included with the name un-redacted.
This cue has not been used in many years. I now play mostly 3-cushion billiards. The original shafts, unfortunately, did not make the 30 year journey as well as the butt. The 2 shafts that come with this cue were built to exactly replicate the original shafts. With 3 significant improvements. The original shafts had brass inserts. These have phenolic inserts. Which provide a much softer hit with better feel and control. The tips are Kamui medium clear. Which, IMHO, are the best tips on the market today.  The ferrules are made of a low deflection material. The assembled cues rolls dead straight with all the shafts. The
    Irish
linen wrap is also perfect. In addition to everything,  also included is a "Custom Made Carbon Fiber Shaft". This shaft mates perfectly to the stainless steel collar.
There is of course one obvious modification that has been made to the cue, as seen in the pictures. The butt sleeve was replaced with a windowed butt sleeve. Which is
    reminiscent
of the Frank Paradise cues and later the signature Palmer cues of the past. I remember as a teenager, many years ago, seeing a Paradise cue in the pool room. I always admired its unique design. It's a matter of personal preference, but I love the look. It has no affect whatsoever on how the cue plays. The Butt cap was also replaced with an
    imitation
ivory that looks exactly like the real McCoy.  Also changed, was the bumper. The new bumper accepts an extension. The custom extension, included and shown in the pictures, is in of itself a work of art. It attaches securely to the butt with just one half turn.
The specs of this cue are:
    Length:    58 inches
Weight:    19.5 oz  (adjustable-can be reduced)  The original weight was 20 1/2 oz.
    Ferrule:    13.2 mm
Tip:           Kamui medium black clear on the wood shafts. Kamui soft black clear on the Carbon Fiber shaft.*
    Joint pin:  5/16 x 14
    Shafts:   Pro taper
    Joint protectors are included

    * The soft tip hits like a medium when on a carbon fiber shaft.
