This beautiful female candlestick holder is a rare authentic 19
th
century Reed & Barton Silverplate Statue, used for a candlestick or a vase holder.
The single classic figure measures 10 ¾” tall, with a 5 ¼” diameter base.  Reed & Barton made a center Vase as well as two matching candlesticks.  This figural statue of a woman may be either one, I do not know enough about the Victorian figural statues to identify which one this is.  There is a center knob on the bottom that unscrews to reveal a hidden compartment.  I have no idea what this was designed for!
The underside of the base is marked, “01365 Mfd & Ptd by Reed & Barton.”
The photographs reveal
that the metal is dulled, not cleaned.  Small corrosion on her right hip, small spots on base.

ome small surface pitting and wear to the silver plating and
some breaks to the top of the leaves that hold the vase or candlestick in place. However, these breaks do not compromise the sturdiness of the holder.
