Vintage Ransburg Metal Paper Towel Holder Hand-Painted

Description

Neat sturdy metal Ransburg paper towel holder, the roll of towels held in place by two springs hidden under metal circular panels inside the ends of the holder. Holder works exactly as it should and holds towels properly. On the wall it looks like the first photo. Because my kitchen doesn't use orange, I was going to repaint this piece and then decorate with an art deco stencil, but never got around to it! I had never seen one like it before, and still haven't.
Measurements: 12" long; 4,25" tall against wall when mounted. Between the two little hanger slots in Picture 5 is an impressed label that reads Ransburg Genuine Hand-Painted Indianapolis, Patent Applied For. I believe this piece dates from 1940 or slightly earlier.
